The quick answer
Bitters was one of those strains that grew on me once I actually smoked it.
My first impression was not anything crazy. The buds in my 1g bag were pretty small and visually nothing special, but honestly, I was not expecting a showcase nug from a one-gram sample. With that small of an amount, you are not necessarily getting the biggest or prettiest buds from the batch, so I would not hold that against the strain too heavily.
What got my attention more was the smell and taste.
As soon as I opened the bag, I got a really pleasant citrusy aroma. That citrus carried into the flavor when I smoked it, and the uplifting effects completed the experience.
My final score: 9.0/10.
First impression
Like I said, the buds in my 1g sample were small.
Nothing ugly. Nothing concerning. Just pretty average-looking flower.
There was not much in the way of crazy bag appeal, but with only a gram, I do not think that is really enough flower to judge the whole batch by. If I had ordered an eighth and every nug looked tiny, I would probably care more.
With a one-gram bag, I was mostly interested in how it smelled, tasted, smoked, and felt.
And thankfully, those parts were better.

The smell
The aroma was one of my favorite things about Bitters.
It had a nice fresh citrus smell right out of the bag.
Not fake candy citrus either.
More along the lines of lemon peel or something fresh and zesty, with a little bit of herbal character underneath it.
Breaking the buds apart brought the citrus out even more.
It was not the loudest flower I have ever had, but it smelled noticeably better than the appearance had me expecting.
This was definitely one of those cases where the nose gave the flower more personality than the visuals did.
Flavor
The flavor was one of the better parts of Bitters.
The citrus from the aroma carried over clearly into the smoke. It tasted fresh and zesty, closer to lemon peel than fake citrus candy.
There was a little herbal and earthy character underneath it, but the citrus stayed noticeable instead of disappearing after the first hit.
That mattered because plenty of flower smells promising in the bag and then barely tastes like anything once it is lit. Bitters did not have that problem.
The taste matched the personality of the aroma and made the smoke more enjoyable from start to finish.
The good citrus flavor is one of the main reasons the 9/10 score makes sense to me.
The high
This is where Bitters really won me over.
The high was noticeably uplifting and heady.
Instead of getting heavy through my body right away, I felt this one more in my head.
My mood picked up.
Things felt a little more interesting.
Music sounded better.
I felt more engaged with whatever I was doing rather than immediately wanting to sit down and stop being productive.
That is probably the biggest reason I enjoyed this strain.
The head high
The cerebral effects were easily the best part of Bitters for me.
It had a nice mental buzz without becoming too intense.
I felt more alert, a little more energetic, and definitely more interested in what I was doing.
It is the kind of high I could see working well for something creative, playing a game, listening to music, messing around on the computer, or just hanging out when I do not want something super heavy.
Basically, something where I still want my brain turned on.
There are some sativa-leaning strains that push the head high a little too far and suddenly you have fifteen thoughts happening at once.
Bitters did not really do that to me.
It stayed pretty comfortable.
Heady, uplifting, but still manageable.
Body effects
The body effects were there, but they were not really the point.
I got some relaxation, but I never felt like I was melting into the couch or becoming especially heavy.
For me, this was definitely more of a mental high than a physical one.
And I actually liked that.
Sometimes I want something where I can still smoke and do things instead of immediately deciding that getting up for a glass of water is an unreasonable amount of effort.
Bitters stayed relatively light on the body.
Smoothness
The smoke was pretty solid.
I did not notice anything especially harsh, and the citrusy taste made it genuinely pleasant to smoke.
At the same time, nothing about the smoothness completely blew me away.
It did its job.
No complaints.
What I liked
The biggest strengths were definitely the citrus smell, citrus flavor, and the high.
That citrus aroma made a good first impression despite the smaller buds, the taste followed through, and the uplifting, heady effects completed it.
The high is the biggest reason the overall score reaches a 9 for me.
It felt functional.
It felt positive.
It did not immediately drag me down physically.
That makes it a strain I would be more likely to reach for during the day or earlier in the evening.

If I had to point to one weakness, it would be the average bag appeal. The small buds were not visually impressive, but I really do not consider that a major negative because this was only a 1g bag.
One gram just is not enough for me to make some sweeping judgment about the entire batch's bag appeal.
The flower smoked and tasted better than it looked, which is a trade I will take every time.

Bitters is a solid strain from Freezo.
My 1g sample was not anything special visually, but I also was not expecting much in terms of nug size from such a small bag.
Once I actually opened it up and smoked it, I liked it considerably more.
The citrusy smell and taste were both really good, and the uplifting, heady high pulled the whole experience together.
This is not the strain I would choose if I wanted something heavy before bed.
But if I wanted something more cerebral, light, and functional?
Yeah, I would smoke Bitters again.
The flower was not visually dramatic, but the fresh aroma, citrusy flavor, and uplifting high made the complete experience memorable enough for a 9.
